Carcinophobia: Fear of cancer
Claustrophobia: Fear of closed spaces
Cynophobia: Fear of dogs
Nyctophobia: Fear of the dark
Socialphobia: Fear of social situations
Aerophobia: Fear of flying
Glossophobia: Fear of public speaking
Telephonophobia: Fear of talking on the phone
Trypanophobia: Fear of needles
Xebophobia: Fear of unknown
Zoophobia: Fear of animals

Excessive, extreme, irrational, panic reaction about a situation, living creature, place or object. Phobias are treatable. Treating the condition won’t happen overnight, but one can retrain brain to stop living in fear, anxiety and start living again.
- Common Causes
Phobia is not always related to an underlying condition. It may be caused by:
- Traumatic experiences
- Substance abuse
- Being raised by adults with phobia or anxiety
- Treatment: Self – care steps that may be helpful in some less- serious cases:
- Calm down if you are having a phobic attack
- Practice relaxation techniques
- Maintain good sleep hygiene
- Avoid caffeine and other stimulants
- Challenge negative thoughts, emotions about your phobia
- Build resilience
